This officials camp will be held at the University of North Dakota Betty Engelstad Sioux Center in conjunction with the UND Women’s Basketball Program. The opening session will begin on June 21, 2018, at approximately 8:00 a.m. and will end on June 22, 2018 at approximately 7:00 p.m.
The staff of Dakota Officials Gear is an outstanding group of officials whose sole purpose is to give you the best instruction available anywhere. Each staff member has worked a combination of Division 1, 2, 3, and multiple North Dakota State High School Tournaments. Some staff members are assignors for high school conferences.
We offer “on-court” instruction that includes; court coverage, signals, and proper mechanics. We review rule changes, discuss politics of officiating, player/coach relationships, rule interpretations, and 3 person mechanics. There are 4 courts used for officiating games. You will officiate games played by high school varsity basketball teams from around the state of North Dakota and Minnesota. As you officiate, you will be observed and critiqued. A staff member is present at each court to provide immediate feedback on the things you do well and things on which you need to work.
